Meet Dr. Shan Ma

Shan Ma, O.D., received her Doctor of Optometry with clinical honors from New England College of Optometry in 2019. She completed her clinical training in community health centers in the Boston area, VA Lowell, and Boston University Eye Associates in the south shore area. Prior to this, she graduated from Tianjin Medical University in China. Dr. Ma also studied and conducted research on potential gene therapy for congenital eye diseases at UMass Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts, and received her Ph.D. degree.

Dr. Ma is dedicated to helping patients improve their vision on a daily basis. Dr. Ma's passion for optometry was influenced by her father, who is an ophthalmologist. She finds great fulfillment in her work by making a positive impact on her patients' lives.

Outside of work, Dr. Ma enjoys spending time with her husband and son. She has a love for travel and enjoys creating handcrafts in her spare time.
