Meet Dr. Mariem Girgis (Hopkinton, MA)

Mariem Girgis, O.D., received her Doctor of Optometry from MCPHS University School of Optometry in 2026. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Spanish from the College of the Holy Cross in 2022.

Dr. Girgis is focused on providing comprehensive eye care and helping patients maintain healthy vision. Her clinical interests include comprehensive eye exams, contact lens exams, diabetic retinopathy care, eye disease management, glaucoma treatment, and macular degeneration care.

Dr. Girgis developed an interest in optometry at the age of seven when she received her first pair of glasses. At that time, she was at risk of developing amblyopia, and early detection by her optometrist helped preserve her vision. This experience inspired her to pursue a career in optometry, as she believes clear vision is a meaningful gift that she hopes to help others achieve.

Dr. Girgis finds the most rewarding part of her profession is the opportunity to positively impact patients’ quality of life by helping them achieve the best possible vision for their individual lifestyles and needs.
